Cultural Heritage

Our Cultural Heritage section, located on the upper floor of Kapurcuk, aims to present visitors with a glimpse into the daily life of old Marmaris. In this area, antique objects, tools, and utensils used throughout different periods have been carefully collected over many years through the dedicated efforts of Mehmet Baysal and are now displayed for visitors.

This section, designed to allow you to experience the history of Marmaris in a tangible way, also features two specially commissioned silicone sculptures that are certain to capture your attention. The first sculpture depicts an elderly Marmaris woman — affectionately referred to by locals as Goca Nene. The second portrays an elderly Marmaris man, known locally as Goca Dede.

These two sculptures were specially created for Kapurcuk by Baysal Ltd. Co., and their clothing and posture were carefully designed to authentically reflect the spirit of Marmaris and its people.
