About Us
Kapurcuk Culture and Gastronomy House is a project brought to life by Baysal Ltd. Co. under the leadership of Mehmet Baysal. The primary aim of this project is to remind those who have begun to forget the daily life of the Marmaris we long for, its lost professions, and the flavors that can no longer be found in today’s Marmaris, while also introducing them to those who have never experienced them.
Lost Professions & Workshop
As part of our initiative to preserve and sustain our natural and cultural local values through the Kapurcuk Culture and Gastronomy House project, we established the workshop section of our Lost Professions initiative.
In addition to visually presenting and explaining these disappearing professions, we created a dedicated space where practical training and hands-on education can take place, because we could not accept the disappearance of professions that once formed the very first foundations of trade and economy in our country and region, carrying traces of thousands of years of history within this geography.
Forgotten Flavors
In our Lost Flavors section, we offer fragrant traditional desserts prepared using Marmaris’ fresh milk, flour, eggs, honey, almonds, and walnuts. Our aim is to bring these forgotten flavors back to the present day — freshly made every single day.
With this purpose in mind, we carefully select fresh and organic ingredients and remain faithful to traditional recipes in order to present these Lost Flavors in their most authentic form.
